Dr. Xinyi Huang joined Pharmaron in April 2010 as Executive Director of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. Prior to this appointment, he was most recently a principal research scientist at Pfizer in Collegeville, Pennsylvania, USA. Dr. Huang accumulated 10-year experience in drug discovery at Wyeth/Pfizer, where he and his group were responsible for assay development, high-throughput screening and lead optimization of discovery projects from research areas including oncology, infectious diseases, inflammation, CNS, and metabolic diseases. He contributed to advancing four Wyeth compounds into development and received the Development Achievement Award for GSI-136.
 
Dr. Huang has a proven publication track record. He is the author of 26 publications and more than 40 poster and podium presentations. Most recently, he authored a book chapter in High Throughput Screening, Methods and Protocols, 2nd Ed.
 
He received his Ph.D. in Bioorganic Chemistry with Profs. R. H. Abeles and L. Hedstrom at Brandeis University. He then did a postdoctoral fellowship with Prof. F. M. Raushel at Texas A&M University. He obtained his B.S. in Molecular Biology from University of Science and Technology of China. Dr. Huang also served as adjunct associate professor at Rutgers University Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences from 2007 to 2009.
