Pharmaron’s Second Animal Facility Receives AAALAC Full Accreditation - Thursday, February 18, 2010

Pharmaron Holding Limited (Pharmaron) announced today that its 2nd animal facility in Beijing received full accreditation from the Association for the Assessment and Accreditation of Laboratory Animal Care International (AAALAC).
 
The AAALAC full accreditation demonstrates Pharmaron’s determination and ability to achieve high standards for animal care and use throughout the R&D activity, and provide high quality drug R&D services to its clients in a regulatory-compliant environment.
 
"With this accreditation, we now have both animal facilities at Pharmaron accredited fully by AAALAC, which expands our capacity to serve clients better with respect to the care and usage of animals for R&D purpose and data quality. We thank AAALAC International for its professional facility inspection and constructive feedback,” said Dr. Boliang Lou, CEO and Chairman of Pharmaron.
 
Pharmaron recently completed the acquisition of AAALAC-accredited Bridge Laboratories China, with western standard GLP-compliant toxicology capacity. Pharmaron now has a total of 97,000 square feet, state-of-the-art facilities to provide the highest levels of drug discovery, development, and preclinical safety services to our global clients, including GLP toxicology and bioanalytical, to help pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies achieve study goals quickly and with greater confidence.
 
AAALAC International is a private, nonprofit organization that promotes the humane treatment of animals in science through voluntary accreditation and assessment programs. More than 800 companies, universities, hospitals, government agencies and other research institutions in 32 countries have earned AAALAC accreditation, demonstrating their commitment to responsible animal care and use.
